I was fortunate enough to win free Bounce passes and having wanted to check this thing out since it opened in 2014, I was keen to give it a shot!
Major disclaimer up front – after having kids and making no effort to strengthen my pelvic floor muscles, I was in constant fear of wetting myself from all the jumping and laughing. Suffice to say I tagged in the hubby and enjoyed this one from the sidelines.
Located in Essendon Fields at one of the amazing hangars, I really did think this activity would see the kids ‘bounce’ themselves into a nap or some quiet time afterwards so I could finally start this ‘Vikings’ binge-watch I’ve been planning! Boy was I wrong – it gave the boys more beans and they bounced on anything they could find at home afterwards!
The kids of course loved this place and it was a good laugh for all of us given trampolines aren’t exclusive to kids!
You start by buying a pair of ‘super grip’ socks, then make you’re way down to the arena and it’s all jumping from this point on! The whole place is divided into areas that are age appropriate – there is a slam dunk area, dodgeball section, free-jump area and even cliff jumping! My boys didn’t know where to start, so thankfully there are bounce supervisors everywhere who take their role pretty seriously (they were super helpful and kept all the kids, and adults, in check). It was a bit of a struggle keeping my ‘threenager’ within the designated areas, given his obsession with all things dangerous – cue me grinding my teeth and earning my dentist loyalty card!
If your kids are like mine and love planes, once they’ve finished their session you can have a bite and watch the planes through the huge glass windows at the cafe – we brought our own food for the kids and it wasn’t a problem.
I noticed they did do kids parties, school camps, kinder gym and even Bounce fit classes! Check out their website for more info www.bounceinc.com.au.
